NEO4FUTURE

‘‘The NEO4Future project aims at the research and development of textile filaments containing encapsulated and/or fixed essential oils (EOs) and their subsequent integration into textile structures. The introduction of EOs into textile filaments will be carried out through extrusion processes, after their proper encapsulation or fixation in (nano)porous structures, which will enable the controlled and phased release of these active principles over time. The inclusion of EOs should preserve their therapeutic properties (e.g., antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-odor) during the extrusion process and the useful life of the filament and/or textile structure. To ensure the success of the project, a multidisciplinary consortium with complementary expertise in key innovation areas has been defined, composed of FITEXAR, BLOSSOM ESSENCE, SMART INOVATION, CENTI, and UBI, further complemented by an international partnership, CODA PLASTICS.’’
